FunkamusPrime’s outstanding Star Wars RPG OmegaDex has been updated to version 1.5b and can be downloaded from my downloads page, for those of you who may not already be aware of its existence. He has updated it to include the Rebellion Era Campaign Guide. His index is an invaluable aid to players and especially to GMs. Get it now! The Spring 2010 WotC Catalog lists details for their new Saga Edition product, Galaxy of Intrigue: “The Star Wars galaxy is rife with treachery and intrigue, from the machinations of Darth Sidious and the Bothan SpyNet to the secret agendas of the Rebel Alliance and the Empire. This supplement gives players and Gamemasters everything they need to run games and play characters in a galaxy of intrigue. “This book provides new options and gear for nobles and other sly-minded characters, as well as a host of adventure hooks and campaign seeds that can be used to inject elements of intrigue into campaigns of all eras. It also includes rules for running skill challenges.” “This supplement gives players new options (talents, feats, prestige classes and equipment) for their noble characters, as well as other characters that revel in diplomacy, bluffing, and intimidation.” “Gamemasters will find this book invaluable for running intrigue-themed adventures and campaigns, and for running skill challenges that keep players on the edge of their seats.” The Spring 2010 WotC Catalog lists a new Saga Edition product, The Unknown Regions, scheduled for release on April 10, 2010. From the catalog: RPG Supplement, 224 pages, $39.95 US, Rodney Thompson “Far from the cityscape of Coruscant, beyond the fringe planets of the Outer Rim, lies a vast region of space called the Unknown Regions. The Unknown Regions are mysterious and uncharted. They are home to strange aliens, violent slavers, and the forgotten remnants of of ancient civilizations that have lived in isolation for eons. “This sourcebook gives players and Gamemasters everything they need to run and play in campaigns featuring scouts, exploration and adventure in the uncharted reaches of the Star Wars galaxy. The Unknown Regions allows Gamemasters to take their existing campaigns in bold new directions, or this book can be used to jumpstart a new campaign that focuses on exploring the unknown.” “For Players: The Unknown Regions presents exciting new options for scouts and other characters dedicated to exploration, as well as new equipment and starships for explorers. For Gamemasters: The Unknown Regions gives Gamemasters adventure hooks, rules, and inspirational encounters to help them run Star Wars campaigns that emphasize exploration, where anything is possible.” WotC has released another excerpt from the forthcoming Rebellion Era Campaign Guide in the form of a downloadable two-page PDF that details four experimental TIE fighters. WotC has released an excerpt from the forthcoming Rebellion Era Campaign Guide in the form of a downloadable two-page PDF that details three SpecForce operatives. My Saga Edition House Rules document has been revised (again). The link to the latest version is in the sidebar on the left. I use these rules in my ongoing Rebirth of a Republic PbP campaign. Comments and suggestions are welcome here, or in the “Share your house rules” thread over at Saga-Edition.com. This version includes rules changes to Surge, spending a Destiny Point to ready an action, accidently hitting allies that are providing soft cover to an enemy, and a half-dozen other tweaks. A complete list of what’s new in this version is posted in the above-mentioned thread at Saga-Edition.com. At my request, FunkamusPrime consented to create an alphabetical list of all of the talents in the Saga Edition RPG. The rough draft can be downloaded from my downloads page. Get it now! Gary Sarli has created a Random Cargo Generator designed to fill 100 metric tons of cargo space (with a randomized amount of unfilled capacity). The generator details the cargo, and its value (per item and in total). It’s really cool, and useful. Gary also gives more rules on searching cargo, and he goes into detail on the difference between cargo weight and volume, so be sure to read the notes beneath the generator. It appears that the Saga Edition Ships of the Galaxy has quietly gone out of print, as has the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide, and Threats of the Galaxy. These books are no longer available from Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble online, Buy.com, or Overstock.com. If you need one or more of these, and your local game shop still has them, you should run and get them while you still can. Or you can wait and hope the outage is temporary and WotC is planning to reprint them. |
